Little Miss Sunshine

I don't know if anyone actually listens and take heed when I ramble on and on here about what movie I watched and what I thought about it here on my blog but believe me, I wouldnt waste my time going on about it if it wasn't good or significant.
Watch Little Miss Sunshine.
It's a beautiful movie, one of those classics which will really make you cry and laugh and cry and laugh again until tears are flowing.
This is a story about a family. A dysfunctional, messed-up family. Parents are on the brink of divorce and bankruptcy, uncle's a depressed man with suicidal intentions, brother's a weird guy who has taken a vow of silence and works out all the time, Grandda's a heroin junkie, and the little girl ( most normal one in my opinion) is a less-than-perfect-looking girl with a pudgy belly and big-ass glasses who wants to be a beauty queen.
They all take a trip to California for the girl to join a beauty pageant called Little Miss Sunshine and along the way, learn how much they love each other and what family is.
Yeah it's cheesy I know but the movie most definitely isnt, I kid you not.
Watch it, rent it, whatever you do, just get your hands on a copy, you'll know what I'm talking about. XD

Things I've Learnt from Scrubs

I have increased my vocabulary since watching Scrubs.
I've learnt new words that I'm not even sure exist in the English language!
Hairmet- a super tall helmet with a lot of hollow space inside that gives your head protection, and also doesn't mess up your hair!

Blerd- a black nerd

Blaxican- A baby of African American and Mexican heritage.

Ahhh. The stuff you learn from TV. :)

Buggered

There are so many things to do now that I'm back in Adelaide.
I have to get my driving up to par quick cause my learner's permit is expiring in 2 weeks time, I have to get my uni stuff all ready and my enrolment for next sem done, go to orientation and sit around bored stiff in the lecture halls while they talk about what they expect of their students, get my visa done and approved, get my bloody knee checked.
Oh, and I gotta unpack too....
Hmmm. Oh well.
Gotta start checking these stuff off my to-do list.
Whew am I gonna be buggered after all these are done...
Life never stops rolling doesnt it?

2. Lovebug- Jonas Brothers
3. Viva La Vida- Coldplay
4. To Be With You- David Archuleta
5. I'm Yours- Jason Mraz
6. Flightless Bird, American Mouth- Iron&Wine

Perth

After my very much anticipated trip to Malaysia was over, I went back to Perth again for a few days before finally going back to Adelaide. It was good to meet up with Madeleine, Stephanie and this time Charles again.
So she decided I had to go to Swan Valley on Tuesday as we were all free... well except Steph, poor girl had classes. haha.
So we set off in Charles' car, armed with a map of the Valley. We'd marked so many spots to stop by, but after a sign like the picture below ( which we finally found after making turn after wrong turn trying to find the bloody house of honey that wasn't even open yet even though it was already on the map), and many other various signs stating they weren't open on Tuesdays, our trip through Swan Valley was a bit shorter than anticipated...
We did manage to visit the Chocolate Factory though, which made my whole day seem a lot brighter.... this is me standing in front of a viewing glass where they show us how they make chocolate...

We then went to this shopping mall ( I say this shopping mall cause I cant remember or pronounce or spell its name) where Made and Charles told me I HAD to try Gelare's waffles because apparently ADELAIDE is so ulu we don't have it.
Gah.

Cookies and cream ice cream on my waffles!

I did enjoy the waffles though, they were good, huge, and I couldnt finish it but wth, at least now I can say I've eaten at Gelare's before!!!
Then we went to the beach. I also say the beach cause I cant remember the name of the beach...
But whatever its name, it was gorgeous, I've said this before and i'll say it again, Perth's beaches are gorgeous! Beautiful! These pics can't even show you guys how beautiful the beaches are!

Whee~!!!!!!

Posers XD

Madeleine's work of art hahahaha

All in all, we had a pretty awesome day, by the time we got home, we were all beat and sandy and dirty. So thanks Made and Charles for showing me around Perth, hope I'll return the favour someday when I'm living in my penthouse in New York City and you guys come to visit!!!
Cause I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to visit Adelaide, its so ulu................. XD

Seriously!

I'm not going to criticize the government or anything like that but sometimes I really think Malaysia's censoring of TV stuff borders on the ridiculous.
My sister and I were watching the Grammys the other day ( My only reason was to watch Jason Mraz win a Grammy or even a performance but I was disappointed when he did neither) and there these performances.
One of them was by Katie Perry performing her hit " I kissed a girl"
However, all we heard from her was " I Kissed * ****"
Those *'s stand for the parts that were censored.
My sister and I could only shake our heads. Thats the whole point of the song for goodness sake!!!!! If they wanted to censor indications that Perry had been involved in a lesbian relationship of some sort, they might as well just censor the whole damn song cause the whole song's about kissing a girl.
Instead they censor the words "A Girl" and think that by doing so they have managed to curb Malaysians of immorality..
I mean, seriously!

Movies I Can't Wait To Watch

Watched Red Cliff 2 ( Chi Bi) with my family at the Curve last night. That cinema rocks. Most comfy chair I have ever sat on. XD
The movie rocked too. Very much. I've never been much of a fan of Chinese Movies I have to admit. Mostly because some of the chinese movies I've watched are embarrasingly awful. But if all Chinese Movies were like Red Cliff, I'd join a Chinese Movies Fan Club anytime.
This movie was a masterpiece. With awesome direction ( John Woo bah), beautiful scenery, non-stop action, humour, emotion, a beautiful soundtrack and of course, eye candy with the likes of the lip-smackingly intense Tony Leung and Takeshi Kanehiro. SO handsome! Who knew men with long girly hair could still look good???
I enjoyed it thoroughly and will definitely be getting it as soon as it is out on dvd.
Now, on to the movies on my to-watch list:
Pink Panther 2. Soon to be out. Starring Steve Martin, Aishwarya Rai, Andy Garcia, Kevin Kline and Emily Mortimer.
Cant wait for more slapstick comedy, stupidity and weird-french-accented-english from the bumbling Inspector Clousseau!

I wasn't all that keen on this. Cause its such a guy movie. And I dont quite like robots or Arnold Susah-nak-eja. But after seeing the trailer last night, this movie is on my list because of the ever sexy Christian Bale!

Yes Elysia, he's in the movie!
So maybe I'll watch it now for the eye candy. Who knows, it might be good.
This is Watchmen. ( Watch the trailer, you'll get hooked)
Brought to you by DS.
Now tell me it doesnt look cool!!!!
Its about a really cool-looking group of superheroes fighting evil and watching over the word ( Duh, thats what they do)
Whats not to like?
Transformers 2.
Lets hope Transformers 2 measures up to the awesometastic Transformers. And lets hope Shia LaBeouff ( I dont know how to spell his last name) is still cute!
X Men Origins!
You get this year's newly crowned Sexiest Man Alive more often than not clad in a singlet or no shirt at all, weilding titanium claws, with stubble, and a permanent evil smirk on his face. Add non stop action, super mutant powers, and a really really cool trailer. Need I say anymore?

Dragonball Evolution.
Now, Dragonball was the only Japanese comic I ever liked. So how can I not watch this adaptation?
Besides, the guy who plays Goku looks really really really delecta-mable!!
Though one does wonder why these obviously Japanese characters have suddenly turned American......
Come on. Who isnt waiting to watch this??????????????

First Day of Chinese New Year

I haven't had a real Kuching first day of Chinese New Year for 2 years.
So it was really nice to have Chinese New year back home with the family.
Except for the obvious difference in height ( for my siblings anyway), everything was just like old times.
Getting dressed in our new clothes, heading over to my uncle's house for brekky, getting angpaus hehehe. It was great.
I miss Kuching now that I'm back in KL.
And yeah yeah yeah, my younger siblings are all taller than me now bla bla bla.

I Found My Marley!

After reading Marley & Me, a book written by John Grogan about living with the most misbehaved dog in the world, I didn't know dogs like that actually existed.
You know, dogs with boundless energy who dont know their strength, over-friendly dogs who enjoy knocking people over and licking them to death. Dogs like Marley.
Meet Marshmellow, her family calls her Mushy ( Although when I first heard her owner call her I thought her name was Mak Cik) She is the most crazy, over-enthusiastic, energetic and adorable dog I have ever seen.

And this is her favourite spot. Sitting at the dining table with all the other homo sapiens who always try their very best trying to get her down and for her to sit long enough.

By the end of the night, I had multiple scratches and dog saliva all over me ( And when I mean all over me, I mean from head to toe... She's a very big and strong dog XD ). The next visit, Mushy managed to get into my mom's car and made off with one side of her very expensive I-dunno-what-fancy-brand heel. According to Auntie Evelyn, Mushy's owner, Mushy has very high taste in shoes. She only goes for expensive ones to chew.
Well, Mushy spend nearly the whole night bounding on everyone and everything before she was banished outside. Where she proceeded to make a racket by barking and whining until we let her back in. And the enthusiastic bounding started all over again.
I am so getting a Golden Retriever next time I get a dog.
